POSITION TITLE: Sr. Tax Associate
POSITION DUTIES: Analyze financial information and prepare/review corporate, individual, fiduciary and partnership U.S. Federal and all State
income tax returns. Prepare tax projections and federal and state estimated tax payments and extensions. Advise clients on tax strategies such as tax optimization and profitability planning. Perform tax research and provide strategic U.S. tax planning and consulting for KS-LLP clients under direct supervision of engagement team manager/partner. Review material assets, income, surpluses, liabilities and expenditures to identify any tax or financial issues or tax opportunities. Ensure business and individual tax, reporting and payment compliance with IRC sections and regulations. Apply rules, regulations and code of conduct of the AICPA. Perform accounting for individuals and business entities. Prepare audit, tax accrual, and tax reconciliation workpapers for partnerships and corporations. Assist in Federal and State audits. Organize and maintain tax and financial databases. Provide guidance and mentoring to Interns and Jr. Tax Associates.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related (Taxation, Finance, Business), or equiv., plus 2 yrs. experience in tax accounting.
Master’s degree accepted in lieu of 1 yr. experience. 2 yrs. exp. must include: 1) 2 years exp. using Internal Revenue Code sections and regulations governing business tax, reporting and payment compliance, incl. Subchapter C corporate income tax compliance; 2) thorough knowledge of rules, regulations and code of conduct of the AICPA; 3) demonstrated mastery of tax research and documentation methodologies; 4) proficiency in MS Excel; and 5) meet eligibility requirements for CPA certification.
